A ONCE-DILAPIDATED barn which has been transformed into a luxury eco-friendly home has been short-listed for a prestigious building award that will see it go head-to-head with the new Wembley National Stadium.

The Stone Barn, a 17th Century stone building at Preston Farm, Preston Lane, near Eaglescliffe, Stockton on Tees, is competing against five developments for the title of best Structural Innovation project in the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) National Built in Quality Awards. (more…)

Open days celebrate rebirth of a Georgian treasure

A ONCE-DERELICT Georgian mansion has been restored to its former glory as the centrepiece of a luxury homes scheme.

Neasham House, a mid-19th Century detached villa, is about to go on sale as two family homes as part of a mixed house and apartment development off Grange Road, in Darlington.

The Grade II-listed property fell into disrepair and became a target of vandals towards end of the last century after being used as local authority flats in the 1960s. (more…)

Double celebration for young solicitor

 COMMERCIAL lawyer Carol Forbes has a double case for celebration.

Carol, 24, will become a fully qualified solicitor on September 15 after successfully completing two years of training with Tees Valley-based Punch Robson Solicitors. (more…)
