Lifeboat SOS appeal off to grand start

Punch Robson’s staff put their best feet forward in aid of the RNLI’s SOS Day

A CASH drive for North-East lifeboatmen got off to a grand start at the weekend.

A group of legal workers staged a sponsored walk in aid of the Redcar Lifeboat Station, in east Cleveland, to support the RNLI’s SOS Day, on Friday, January 30.

About 30 staff from Punch Robson Solicitors collected in the region of £1,000 by walking from Redcar Lifeboat Station to Marske and back again, a total of five miles. (more…)

Opticians use break to focus on young audience

THE temporary closure of an opticians for improvement work could prove a sight for sore eyes at local schools.

Staff at Cooper & Flower, in the Parkway Shopping Centre, Coulby Newham, will shut their doors for two weeks on January 26 to allow a £40,000 improvement scheme to be carried out.

However, they don’t intend to remain idle during the break in normal service – but instead plan to take part in fun educational workshops at nearby schools. (more…)

MORE than 50 estate agents have joined a groundbreaking house swap website in just three months - giving the ailing property market a much-needed shot in the arm.

Property-Matchmaker.com - dubbed the “match, trade and swap site for property professionals” - matches houses being sold by estate agents and builders.

In its first three weeks after going live it provided more than 600 two-way matches. (more…)

A NORTH-EAST company specialising in explosion and fire protection has clinched a major contract during construction of a “hotel” platform in the North Sea.

Mech-Tool Engineering Limited will supply stainless steel external fire wall cladding for a new living quarters platform for BP Norge AS, as part of the Valhall Oil Field re-development, in the Norwegian sector. (more…)
