Networking is the goal of stadium roadshow

A ROADSHOW which gives businesses the opportunity to network with hundreds of others is coming to Darlington.
Business Roadshow Tees Valley will be staged at Darlington Football Club’s Northern Echo Arena on Friday, September 4, from 10am to 5pm.
The event, which is free to attend, will feature up to 80 exhibitors over two floors of the stadium, while workshops throughout the day will cover topics such as communication, business presentations and time management.
The roadshow is the sixth to be staged by Network North, which runs business networking groups all over the region.
And organiser Alex Gordon says that if the event continues to get the full support of local businesses, it has the potential to be the biggest business-to-business gathering ever staged in the South Durham area.
“The early response from businesses, some of which already attend our regular Darlington networking meetings, has been very encouraging, with many exhibitor spots already filled,” says Alex, who runs the networking business with his brother, Marc.
“Networking has become an integral part of establishing and building a successful business. The roadshow gives companies an opportunity to establish contact and discuss ideas with other businesses, potentially customers, they might otherwise struggle to meet.”
Network North runs networking groups as far apart as Hexham and Harrogate, with each group meeting fortnightly. Any company joining its local group, for £200 a year, is automatically a member of all 13 groups and can expand geographically through the group network.
Says Marc: “We aim to stage three roadshow events a year in the south and three in the north part of the region. The Darlington event will be all about making contact, and the networking will begin the moment people reach the entrance to the football stadium, where we will have a business card table and a “Get Connected” wall where businesses can leave specific requests of the people or type of businesses they would like to meet.”
Exhibiting at the roadshow costs £150+VAT, but it is completely free to attend, including free parking and free tea and coffee, with food available for purchase. However, places must be pre-booked online at www.businessroadshow.org.uk or by email to lorraine@networthnorth.org.uk, or for more information call 07825 941076.
