Park Lane Healthcare completes £18.3m deal

A CARE for the elderly provider is set to double in size after completing an £18.3m deal to buy the freehold of five of the homes it runs, plus refinance a sixth.

Park Lane Healthcare, based in York, operates a total of eight retirement and nursing homes across the North of England, providing care for about 370 vulnerable and elderly people.

Now it has bought the freeholds for five of its homes from Quercus Healthcare Property Partnership, one of the UK’s biggest healthcare property investment organisations. (more…)

Families criticise council over regeneration scheme

FAMILIES on a rundown housing estate where many homes have been vacated say they have been abandoned by their “dilly-dallying and penny-pinching” council.

Their homes are on an estate east of Raby Road, Hartlepool, where Hartlepool Borough Council has acquired 62 of more than 200 homes ahead of a major redevelopment of the area under the North Central Hartlepool Regeneration Scheme. (more…)
