TEENAGER Louise Spowart is looking good for a successful career.

Seventeen-year-old Louise, from Ingleby Barwick, has gone from receptionist/office administrator to become the face of Maineside Developments Limited, one of the Tees Valley’s fastest-growing property development companies.

Her photograph - with one of Maineside’s latest property developments reflected in her sunglasses - features on the cover of the company’s new brochure.

And soon it will be appearing on billboards all over the Tees Valley.

A former pupil at Conyers School, in Yarm, is delighted with her modelling debut, but says she has no plans to leave her job - which began as a North-East Chamber of Commerce placement - in favour of the catwalk.

“I’m really happy at Maineside. It’s a modern and youthful company, with a reputation for bringing on young people and developing their careers,” said Louise, who is working towards an NVQ Level II in business administration through the Chamber of Commerce, as well as taking a nightclass in basic bookkeeping. She plans to pursue a further NVQ in accounting as she develops her chosen career in office administration.

“The company could easily have hired a model to do the photo-shoot, but they felt it was important that it was a face which genuinely represented the company.

“They really looked after me on the day of the shoot. They paid for me to see a hairdresser and a beautician, and really pampered me - just like a model. The photo-shoot itself took three hours and was a lot of fun.

“And if I did try modelling, Dave Muir, the director, has already said he will be my manager,” she joked.

Maineside Developments show apartment at Lancaster Lodge, Thornaby is open from Wednesday to Friday, from noon until 3pm, and on Saturday, 10am till 1.00pm. For further information, contact Maineside on 01642 579859.
