Open day celebrates decade of home-building
March 11th, 2008 by Julie
A DECADE of construction and development– including the creation of scores of homes for first-time buyers – is to be celebrated at an open day.
Maineside Developments Limited, which completes ten years in business in March, is planning the open day at its latest residential development in Thornaby.
The 15 apartments that make up Lancaster Lodge, off Martinet Road, only went on sale in January and Maineside hopes its first few residents will be among the guests at the open day, on 5th and 6th April 2008.
“We plan to officially hand over keys to some of our first customers at Lancaster Lodge, so it already promises to be a very special anniversary celebration,” says Maineside director Dave Muir.
“We also hope customers, past and present, of our other residential developments in the Tees Valley area will join us for a glass of wine – and it would be nice to think that a potential buyer may find their dream home when they view the apartments at Lancaster Lodge, of which we are very proud.”
Maineside, founded by Mr Muir and fellow director Kevin Slade in March 1998, has gone from small-scale refurbishment work on commercial buildings to multi-million pound residential developments in the ten years since.
Last year, the company moved from its original base in Middlesbrough into a new office complex at Birchwood House, Dalby Way, Coulby Newham.
Lancaster Lodge, a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments in a range of distinctive styles, has been built on land that was once part of Thornaby Aerodrome and its name is a tribute to the site’s aviation history.
It is the second major project in the town by Maineside, after enjoying a big success with a development of 19 homes at Stainsby Grange, in Allensway, Thornaby, in 2006.
Last year, Maineside also completed Belgravia Gardens, a development of 11 apartments and a detached bungalow in Linthorpe Village, Middlesbrough, while projects have been completed nationally for blue-chip clients such as Coca Cola.
The open day runs from 10am to 4pm, and free refreshments will be served throughout the day.
Alternatively, the show apartment is open from Wednesday to Friday, from noon until 3pm, and on Saturday, 10am till 1.00pm. For further information, contact Maineside on 01642 579859.
